The Name of Jesus will Bless them Tremendously - Joyce Meyer

Joyce Meyer mentioned that always sounds so spiritual: God spoke to me. I’m even trying to get away from that and just trying to say to people, “you know, it just came to my heart…” Because we just make ourselves sound so spiritual… “Oh, God talks to you. Wow.” Then when we turn out to be wrong, we’ve got to explain that away. You guys are on track tonight; you’re right on target! “God spoke to me and told me to give you this pin, and you should wear it on your uniform.

When you bend over the patients, just the name of Jesus will bless them tremendously.” So sure enough the girl doing my nails said, “that is so nice! Wow! What a generous person you are!  That is the coolest thing! Wow!” And even after the lady left, she kept telling me how nice I was. Ahh! So I got ready to leave and as I was walking out the door, the Holy Ghost said to me, “well, I hope you enjoyed that because that’s all the reward you’re getting.” It says right here: Matt. 6:1: If you do your good works to be seen of men, you have no reward from your father who is in heaven. Joyce Meyer Ministries teaches us that if you pray to be seen of men, you have no reward from your father who is in heaven. Now there are times when the bible also says do your good works before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father.

We Can Move Forward

Joyce Meyer is going to focus in on what God wants for this family. I was like, “I’m going to follow through with it. I’m going to say it and I’m going to do it.” And my kids… It was amazing. I thought, “I’m going to be beating them all day.” I didn’t have to do anything. Just when they knew that I had set my mind — I was going to say it one time and that was it, they were like: sigh: “Okay, awesome, this is great. We can move forward.”

Joyce Meyer Ministries: It actually gave order to them and they liked it. I found with a lot of different situations I could talk about but it’s amazing how as long as we will put up with something, the devil will continue to give it to us, and God won’t deliver us. It’s like we have to get to that place that only we can get to in our heart where we say, “I am not going to put up with this anymore.” When you make your mind up that you’re not going to put up with something anymore, and you will take action if you have to, then many times you don’t even have to. But because we’re not planning to take action — we’re just going to put up with it and put up with it and put up with it and put up with it — then the door is open for it to continue.

The Joy in the Church

Some people don’t know how to receive when you’re trying to do something for them and that’s equally bad. Oh, no! Oh, no! You just say: wow! Thank you! I appreciate that! I tell people all the time I’ve learned how to receive. Don’t come around offering me something, hoping I won’t take it because I will. Get rid of that holy, phony, religious act. You know you want it. Take it. Don’t sit there and act like you don’t and make somebody try to talk you into it. Just say: wow! Praise God! I’ve been believing for that.

Thank you! I’m telling the truth and you know it. Ed Young tells us get rid of that false humility. Some of you are disappointed if the person doesn’t try to talk you into it, just like: okay. Well! We don’t have any part in each other if we don’t serve each other. How can I say Jacque and I have fellowship if she just works for me and I know she has a need and won’t get involved in the need? We need to be serving one another. Then he goes on and says: I’ve done this as an example to you, that you might do in your turn what I’ve done to others.

I love verse 17: if you know these things… How many of you know that you should be serving others? How many of you know that? You know that being a servant is the high call on our life? That’s what the word “minister” means, by the way. Minister doesn’t mean I’m a big shot, it means I’m a servant. A big shot is just a little shot away from home anyway. It’s amazing how unimpressed the folks at home are with me. People come to my kids: what’s it like to have Joyce Meyer for your mother? She’s just my mother.

You know, just mom. John 13:17: If you know these things, blessed and happy and to be envied are you if you practice them. Ed Young Ministries tells us that where’s the joy in the church? Why do we have so many unhappy Christians? It’s right there. You don’t need to wonder anymore why you’re not happy. It’s not your little house and your old car, it’s not because you didn’t get the promotion at work and it’s not all the other people in your life that you wish were spiritual giants and they’re not. If you know these things, happy are you if you do them. One more time: if you know these things — and after today you cannot say you don’t know. Sorry, you lost all your excuses.

The Disciples’ Feet

I have an elderly mom and dad and an aunt, all of whom I’m responsible to take care of, and just in doctor appointments alone, it takes up sometimes 3 and 4 and 5 days a month. This girl works for me. I pay her personally; the ministry doesn’t pay her. She helps me with them and she has a gift with the elderly. Joyce Meyer tells us that they’ve known her for years. She takes care of their hair. She takes them to the doctor appointments and helps get groceries and does different things like that.

She is extremely valuable to me. Can you imagine what kind of pressure that would put on me if I had to try to do all that? So, I help with the financial part of that and she helps with the labor part of that. Don’t ever think if you’re doing things like that — just things that would come under the category of washing feet — that it makes you not a valuable person.  You are so valuable! Joyce Meyer Ministries most people won’t do anything unless they’re getting a lot of credit and unless somebody’s making a lot of noise about it because to be honest with you, most of us still are learning how to do what we do unto the Lord and not to be admired and appreciated. The people you’re doing things for should appreciate you but even if they don’t, you should still do what God has asked you to do and do it unto him.

Loving people to the highest degree is serving them. Jesus was able to do it because he knew who he was. John 13:4: he got up from supper, took off his garments, took a servant’s towel, fastened it around his waist. vs. 5: poured water into the washbasin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and wiped them with the servant’s towel with which he was girded. vs. 6: when he came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, lord, are my feet to be washed by you? [is it for you to wash my feet?] vs. 7: and Jesus said to him, you do not understand now what I’m doing, but you will understand later. vs. 8: Peter said to him, you shall never wash my feet! Jesus answered him, unless I wash you, you have no part with me [you have no share in companionship with me]. Do you realize what that’s saying?  If we don’t do things for one another and there are two sides to this: people need to do things for others and others need to learn how to receive.

Speak The Word Of God

I’m not going to do it through the elders.  I’m going to do this when you take what I’ve taught you and you begin to apply it and speak it over your life.” I thought at first, “is this really the lord?” but it was the lord and I started taking the promises. You talk about going on the offense and using the weapons. That’s what I had to do. I was passively waiting and just saying, “Lord, when you get around to it, you’ll do this.” and he said to me, “you know, I’ve taught you an awful lot. You’ve sat under some of the best teachers in the world and you’re going to have to do it because I’m a good dad and I’m going to make you do what I’ve taught you.” it wasn’t complicated. I just took scriptures on healing, promises that god had given me, and began to speak them over my hands every day. Within two weeks, I looked at my hand one day and I thought, “is that smaller? I think those are getting smaller.” within another week, it was obvious because some of them were gone; they were all shrinking.  Within 30 days I had brand-new skin and I even had a new fingernail on this finger. You can’t grow a fingernail in two weeks or three or four weeks.  Everything was new! The lord taught me through that, “you can either sit back or wait or you can do what I’ve taught you, and if you’ll do what I’ve taught you and speak the word, I’ll do what I said I would do over your life.”

(Joyce Meyer Ministries) Jesus said, “My words, they are spirit and they are life.”  So, there is life in the word and there’s power in the word of god. And actually one of the most powerful principles in my own life, and one of the things that is the central core of my teaching, is the power of speaking the word of god out loud.  If we can learn to speak the word of god before we speak 18 months of doubt and unbelief, it’s helpful because then you don’t have to tear up all the bad seeds you’ve sown before you start getting results. That is something I’m glad you brought up. I think it is really important for people to realize that in revelation, Jesus is depicted on this challenging horse and it says a two-edged sword went forth out of his mouth.  I’ve always marveled that it didn’t just sit in his mouth; it went forth out of his mouth.

(Dutch sheets) that’s right. I’ve been in prayer times before. And when this first started happening to me, I wondered if I could really do this because I’ve been in prayer times before — this is normal for me now — but back then when something would start rising up in me and I’d think, “I command you,” I’d think, “can I do that?” “I command this!  I command!” I’d start speaking the scripture as though it was my scripture to speak and I thought: can I be this bold? Of course, over the years the lord taught me that does the spirit of god rising up in me want to wield the sword of his spirit. Sometimes we lay hands on the sick, for example. I know on one occasion I was told about a baby that had a fractured skull and they said it was a single mom - a drug addict, prostitute, I think, in Dallas — and somebody just witnessed to her in the hospital. Her baby was just born and they’d used the forceps and put too much pressure and fractured the skull. The spirit of god came over me and I led the congregation and said, “we’re going to speak to that baby right now in the name of Jesus,” which is another one of our weapons, by the way. If we’re not doing it in his name, we’re not doing it basically. But anyway, I said: we’re going to speak to that baby in the name of Jesus and command healing into this child. We actually turned and faced the hospital.  You don’t have to do that but we did just as an act of faith and release. We began to speak god’s word over that baby, that by his stripes she’s healed, and commanded that skull to come back together. That afternoon they went back to see the baby. They had taken new x-rays. The doctor said: we don’t understand what happened.  We have these x-rays where the skull is fractured. We have these x-rays and the skull is normal. It’s not always that easy, by the way.  I understand that. I prayed for people who didn’t get healed of broken bones but that baby was healed and that mom came to Christ. I was actually a teacher in a bible school at the time in Dallas, and the mom was led to the lord, brought in front of the whole student body of this school, and we dedicated this baby to the lord and prayed over both of them. 

Joyce Meyer Now see, god wanted to save this momma, not just heal the baby, and when the sword of the spirit went forth in the name of Jesus, power was released.
